I've been making Christmas cards as the interest strikes for the last three months, but I made one that I'd been considering th concept this whole time for, today. Finally, here it is. Hopefully it makes sense. The inside says "seasons' greetings". Because there are two types of season greeting you on the front of the card... get it?

July 26 2015
Okay, so it's been a while. I've been busy doing things. Summer is always the busiest season for me (because any reason to be outside is a good reason when it's sunny and warm)... currently I work at least 9 hours a day, 5 days a week (every other Saturday I work a 6 hour shift). After that I go to umpire softball at my park, and then I come home and either jog or eat. Sometimes I jog and then eat although usually I only have enough time for one and jogging is currently necessary. On weekends I try to buy food/ play two games of softball and also sometimes do fun things like talk to people and go on dates.
Speaking of jogging, it's something I've been doing for a while now. It's not like I'm running. My pace is generally around 5km/30 mins, and that's average. I don't usually get picky as long as I'm not walking for at least 30 minutes and am going at a pace that's comfortably challenging. Sometimes I pick a faster time and will do 5km in 28 or 27 minutes, but usually I hit that anyway. Mostly this whole thing is not something I would have chosen to do as I prefer to get exercise in ways that include sports or hiking or climbing or anything other than pounding the pavement with my feet, but- eh- a chosen career field expects me to stay in shape and so I am trying.
Still prefer sports.
However, the point of and inspiration of this post is that I've picked up some things recently or use things as a result of my increased cardio expectations. I'm precursoring this part of the post with: I sure as heck did not get this stuff for free or cheap and am not being endorsed by these guys, I am just finding that I have ten minutes and an opinion to write a blog about something that matters to me.
So here goes some stuff:
This water bottle:
Camelbak Eddy. Not my favourite water bottle; I do not use it very often if I can avoid it. It is only 750 mL and I inhale water like a fish. The reason I bought it (okay, let's be serious, my boyfriend bought it after I briefly mentioned how useful the straw would be while I was jogging) was because I saw the little suck-straw that's quite malleable. It's sealing so that it doesn't leak, but it also can be used while jogging. I love it for the winter when I wander into a 3 month wag jag membership at a gym so that I can use their treadmills instead of trying to jog through the winter in Canada. I like my fingers.
Now, because I have it with me and it matches my favourite waterbottle (my 1L Nalgene), I add it to my baseball bag before I leave or my purse or my hiking backpack just in case I drink my full 1L of water and still need more.
These shoes:
Saucony Triumph 11. Bought these yesterday for around 125$ CAN and the main reason for this post. Now, I have only run once in them, in the morning. It was hot and humid outside at 8:30am when I went jogging and I am not a morning (or day) jogger. But, I needed to and time permit it. They immediately feel different then my old Fila pair; they're new and unbroken so they may change over time. Definite cushion so far. Definitely a thicker sole. They don't give me the bounce I was expecting, but I didn't feel like they were bad. Just... shoes. That being said, the Wilsons I bought and wore twice cut my ankles up terribly, but these were beautiful, like softly cupping foaminess. I liked that. I'll have to keep wearing them to make a determination, but we shall see.
This Bra:
Under Armour Heat Gear Sports Bra. I bought it yesterday at an outlet mall for around 15$ CAN. So far, it's okay. It's only a med-impact bra, so it's not duct taping anything down. But, it's working so far... we shall see after repeated washings, that's usually when things go downhill. If you know what I mean.
See? lots of opinions. Now, on to a slo-pitch game. Woo!

Now I can finally drop that card!
Yay! my friend's card. Simple and cute and in colours that she might kinda like.
Another card or two that I've done.
And now, for the sad news: I have previously worked at Future Shop for about a year and a half. I loved my job there.
It was a beautiful position. Unfortunately they have shut down all stores that existed in favour of the "Best Buy" branding.
Sad, since I loved my commissioned salesperson job. I loved my team. I loved my management. It was probably the best group of people I've ever worked with and absolutely brimming with support, kind words, and friendship from people who were constantly trying to sell the same things I was to the same people. Yet there was respect-genuine respect- from team members and management for all staff. I hope to find other positions the same throughout the rest of my life, but heaven knows that retail is rarely like that. Yesterday, we lost a beautiful place to gain experience and knowledge.
How I will miss working there-- but alas! I have other things up my sleeve that I will probably not ever reveal due to privacy. Still, I mourn the loss of a wonderful working experience that was unexpected and unprepared for and the loss of the people who were on my teams in two different stores.
In other news... yay free time? More gym time? More photography? More crafts? Until I find another temporary job or my true career goal comes to fruition...
Or until I go back to school. Whatever.

February 21 2015
Well, things aren't running as smoothly as planned lately. Being a year older is not having any effect on my luck. My new jeep (Liberty 2002) decided to roll backwards while I wasn't in it yesterday after being parked for a good 10 minutes. In a parking lot. Full of cars. Now, it's a standard, but I have NEVER had this happen to me in two and a half years of driving standard. And I had to release the parking brake to drive it off if the bmw that it decided to sit on. It was only safetied and certified a month ago, I certainly haven't done enough to it to break it yet.
In the aftermath of my irritation, I did a paper craft. I'm finding more and more that I am not doing enough to keep the stress down because to be quite honest, I am nonever at home long enough to do so. Between work and the boyfriend and trying to get this big career application done, I don't seem to be able to get the fun stuff done.
Since the person whose birthday my papercraft was for reads this and she doesn't have a birthday for a while, a spoiler wouldn't be nice. Instead, I give a teaser:

I also made a layout with no picture since i haven't got one... although I do have one in mind. I'm not sure it's done-in fact I'm almost positive it's not, and that's why it can't be put away yet. That and it has no picture:
I think that it needs some teal paint splatters and some stitching maybe. I don't know. What do you think?

Yay! 26! I feel a lot older today. 26 is a round up point to 30... and I still work a retail position. Although I love my job, it is not where I want to be in life. On the plus side, I jogged the other day for thirty minurminutes and did about 5k. That means I'm where I left off. I also painted my nails... something I never bother with:

January 22, 2015
Life has been a little bit busy lately (it seems like it never stops, really. I do play some Pokemon sometimes so it can't be that busy... but it just seems like if I'm not working I'm still working trying to do all the things I can't do because I'm working... You know. That kind of busy) so I haven't been doing anything fun with creating. I did start an ATC a few days ago, because I was inspired and sitting and printing paperwork out for a career I'm applying to be a part of.
I'll be starting to really habitualize my workout habits, as currently they're very erratic- about three or four times a week I work on core and maybe once a week I do cardio (been doing kickboxing with my bestie), and I do RSCDS dance every Wednesday so that's something... but they're not enough. I bought a three month gym membership so that I can start doing cardio every day again (the snow just doesn't make for pleasant jogging or breathing while jogging, which I had been doing up until mid November when I did my Lasik).
Now, though, I'm noticing the poor shape I'm getting back to. I'm going to have to start again... although kickboxing has reintroduced me to skipping. I remember when I was a kid and everything was all about skipping and we used to skip on jump rope for heart day
like there was nothing else in the world we wanted to be doing. Man. I should never have stopped. It was awesome. Arguably, though, the school went to hoops for heart
which- let's be serious- I'm not an indoor sport kind of person, so that didn't go well; I also really dislike basketball and find it quite slow. Then hoops for heart was boring and so skipping was out and there was no reason to skip. Also I got old.
So anyway now I'm just focusing on getting into the career I want. Which requires me to be a lot more fit than before (and although I keep hitting stumbling blocks it doesn't take me that long to get into surprisingly acceptable shape- goooo being a mesomorph! Never made for being attractive, but boy, does it make being sporty easy.
So, fun things that I"m going to start actually doing:
Cardio- skipping and jogging again, since I actually enjoy jogging when it's not -17 C outside.
Weight resistance training- because lifting 80 lbs is easy when you're doing it all the time, and I can do 60 no problem so 80's not that far off.
