July 26 2015

Okay, so it's been a while. I've been busy doing things. Summer is always the busiest season for me (because any reason to be outside is a good reason when it's sunny and warm)... currently I work at least 9 hours a day, 5 days a week (every other Saturday I work a 6 hour shift). After that I go to umpire softball at my park, and then I come home and either jog or eat. Sometimes I jog and then eat although usually I only have enough time for one and jogging is currently necessary.  On weekends I try to buy food/ play two games of softball and also sometimes do fun things like talk to people and go on dates.
Speaking of jogging, it's something I've been doing for a while now. It's not like I'm running. My pace is generally around 5km/30 mins, and that's average. I don't usually get picky as long as I'm not walking for at least 30 minutes and am going at a pace that's comfortably challenging. Sometimes I pick a faster time and will do 5km in 28 or 27 minutes, but usually I hit that anyway. Mostly this whole thing is not something I would have chosen to do as I prefer to get exercise in ways that include sports or hiking or climbing or anything other than pounding the pavement with my feet, but- eh- a chosen career field expects me to stay in shape and so I am trying.
Still prefer sports.
However, the point of and inspiration of this post is that I've picked up some things recently or use things as a result of my increased cardio expectations. I'm precursoring this part of the post with: I sure as heck did not get this stuff for free or cheap and am not being endorsed by these guys, I am just finding that I have ten minutes and an opinion to write a blog about something that matters to me.
So here goes some stuff:

This water bottle:

Camelbak Eddy. Not my favourite water bottle; I do not use it very often if I can avoid it. It is only 750 mL and I inhale water like a fish. The reason I bought it (okay, let's be serious, my boyfriend bought it after I briefly mentioned how useful the straw would be while I was jogging) was because I saw the little suck-straw that's quite malleable. It's sealing so that it doesn't leak, but it also can be used while jogging. I love it for the winter when I wander into a 3 month wag jag membership at a gym so that I can use their treadmills instead of trying to jog through the winter in Canada. I like my fingers.
Now, because I have it with me and it matches my favourite waterbottle (my 1L Nalgene), I add it to my baseball bag before I leave or my purse or my hiking backpack just in case I drink my full 1L of water and still need more.

These shoes:

Saucony Triumph 11. Bought these yesterday for around 125$ CAN and the main reason for this post. Now, I have only run once in them, in the morning. It was hot and humid outside at 8:30am when I went jogging and I am not a morning (or day) jogger. But, I needed to and time permit it. They immediately feel different then my old Fila pair; they're new and unbroken so they may change over time. Definite cushion so far. Definitely a thicker sole. They don't give me the bounce I was expecting, but I didn't feel like they were bad. Just... shoes. That being said, the Wilsons I bought and wore twice cut my ankles up terribly, but these were beautiful, like softly cupping foaminess. I liked that. I'll have to keep wearing them to make a determination, but we shall see.

Image: link because you're not getting one of me in mine and a flat bra never looks attractive.
This Bra:
Under Armour Heat Gear Sports Bra. I bought it yesterday at an outlet mall for around 15$ CAN. So far, it's okay. It's only a med-impact bra, so it's not duct taping anything down. But, it's working so far... we shall see after repeated washings, that's usually when things go downhill. If you know what I mean.

See? lots of opinions. Now, on to a slo-pitch game. Woo!
