And now, for the sad news: I have previously worked at Future Shop for about a year and a half. I loved my job there.
It was a beautiful position. Unfortunately they have shut down all stores that existed in favour of the "Best Buy" branding.
Sad, since I loved my commissioned salesperson job. I loved my team. I loved my management. It was probably the best group of people I've ever worked with and absolutely brimming with support, kind words, and friendship from people who were constantly trying to sell the same things I was to the same people. Yet there was respect-genuine respect- from team members and management for all staff. I hope to find other positions the same throughout the rest of my life, but heaven knows that retail is rarely like that. Yesterday, we lost a beautiful place to gain experience and knowledge.
How I will miss working there-- but alas! I have other things up my sleeve that I will probably not ever reveal due to privacy. Still, I mourn the loss of a wonderful working experience that was unexpected and unprepared for and the loss of the people who were on my teams in two different stores.
In other news... yay free time? More gym time? More photography? More crafts? Until I find another temporary job or my true career goal comes to fruition...
Or until I go back to school. Whatever.
